Read a clothing size code
170/92A on a top refers to a 170 cm reference height, a 92 cm body chest/bust and body-type code A. It does not mean the finished garment has a 92 cm chest.
How 160/84A and 170/92A work
The number before the slash is the reference body height in centimetres. The number after it is the body chest/bust for tops or body waist for bottoms. Choose the garment category before reading the result. The final letter is a body-type category based on the difference between chest and waist; it is not a US size letter.
Why there is no automatic US M result
Brands use different ease, cuts, stretch and international labels. The code describes reference body measurements, not a promise that a particular brand’s US M will fit. Compare your measurements with the seller’s garment table. This decoder accepts Y, A, B and C without inferring unverified sex-specific body-type ranges.
Examples
A top marked 160/84A gives a reference height of 160 cm (62.99 in) and chest/bust of 84 cm (33.07 in). Trousers marked 170/76A give a height of 170 cm (66.93 in) and waist of 76 cm (29.92 in). Use the seller’s category and instructions if a label differs from this format.
