Where our numbers come from, how we check examples and how to report a mistake.

Who publishes this site

China Converters publishes the calculators and guides on this site. The name in an article's byline identifies the site publisher. Our focus is Chinese shopping labels, measurement units, currency references and calendar dates. See About China Converters for more.

How we choose sources

For measurement units, we use official unit references. For size comparisons, we name the manufacturer whose chart is being used. For lunar dates, we check examples against published calendar tables. Links appear with the relevant explanation or in the article's reference list, along with the part of the example they support.

We keep source context with the result. A mainland jin and a Taiwan tai-jin have different weights. A brand's shoe chart is specific to that brand. If a product chart disagrees with a general reference, use the chart for that product and check what was measured.

How examples are prepared

Worked examples give the inputs, units and arithmetic so you can repeat them. Shopping examples use sample prices and dimensions. Calendar examples include the year and any leap-month setting. We check these examples with the calculation code and relevant reference tables. The methodology page records the formulas, chart sources and supported ranges.

We use software and AI assistance for drafting, editing and implementation. The articles are source-based explanations, not reports of personal shopping or product-fitting tests. They do not claim an author's professional qualifications or independent expert review.

Publication and update dates

Articles show when they were published. We update the recorded modification date when the calculation, source interpretation or explanation changes substantially. A routine build or a changed footer does not make an old article newly researched. Reference-check dates describe when we consulted a source.

Report a mistake

Use the address on our contact page and include the page URL, your inputs, the result and the chart or reference that disagrees. For a calendar result, include the year, leap-month setting and search start date. Remove names, order numbers and other personal details from screenshots.

Useful corrections can change a formula, example, source note or explanation of the tool's limits. Supplying the original chart helps us distinguish an error from a different unit or measuring convention.
