Chinese shoe size chart to US complete guide

A CN shoe label is useful only after you identify its system. A millimetre foot-length label and a marketplace EU-style label describe different things. Read the product’s own chart before choosing a US label.

Separate the three numbers

• Foot-length label: if the seller confirms 250 means millimetres of foot length, it converts to 25 cm. It is not US size 250.
• EU-style retail label: a marketplace CN 40 may refer to an EU-style row. The US equivalent depends on the brand and the men’s or women’s column.
• Inside length: this measures space inside the shoe. It includes fitting room and is not the same as the wearer’s foot length.

A reproducible brand example

In the adidas adult chart, EU 40 is listed at a 24.6 cm heel-to-toe reference, US men 7 and US women 8. A 25.0 cm foot-length row is EU 40 2/3, US men 7.5 and US women 8.5. These are two different rows. They do not establish a universal Chinese size formula.

Open the adult shoe tool, choose the type of number you have, and select the US chart. Exact listed labels return one reference row. In-between foot lengths return both neighbours. An EU label missing from this reference is reported without interpolation.

Measure and compare before ordering

1. Stand with your weight on a flat surface. Mark heel and longest toe for both feet.
2. Measure the longer heel-to-toe distance. Select cm, mm or inches in the tool.
3. Read the brand’s fitting instructions for width, toe shape and the specific model. Do not add a universal allowance.
4. If you know only a US size, use the reverse adult tool with the correct men’s or women’s column.

Children need a separate chart

Children’s US numbering restarts. A little-kid US 8 and a big-kid US 8 are different labels. The children’s shoe tool uses H&M’s published footwear table and explicitly separates the stages for reverse lookup. It does not infer size from age or use adult formulas.

When the seller’s chart disagrees
